Discover Fishing and Boating in Killarney

Renowned for its abundant salmon, sea trout, and brown trout, the Killarney area offers a rich and rewarding fishing experience to enthusiasts of all levels.

The River Laune, flowing into the Killarney Lakes, is especially known for its spring salmon run. As the season progresses, from late July through September, the river and lakes teem with fish, providing excellent fly fishing opportunities. The Castle pool to Killorglin stretch of the river is particularly good for sea trout, with the main run occurring from the end of June to early September.

The Atlantic Kerry Coast also offers a range of sea fishing options, from shore and beach fishing to deep sea excursions. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a novice, there’s something for everyone.

Conveniently located adjacent to our park, the River Flesk offers additional fishing opportunities. Permits can be purchased in the town centre, making it easy to enjoy a day of fishing close to your home base.

Currently, trout fishing is free on the Lakes of Killarney. There is a licence fee if you wish to fish for Wild Atlantic Salmon and you can purchase any required permits in the town centre.
